How To Use Open Source

Welcome to Open Source!

Thanks for joining Magnetic North Theatre Company's new social community for social audiences.

You will receive a monthly email updating you on the latest happenings on the site.

Here’s a few simple hints to getting the most out of being a member:

Join Our Groups: Each Magnetic North show has its own Group. Here you can see behind-the-scenes videos, read tour diaries, get invites to exclusive free preview performances and lots more.  There are also groups for arts events happening in different areas around Scotland, new work being created by Magnetic North's associated artists and Who's Afraid Of... , which features beginners guides to everything from panto to short films commissioned from some of Scotland's top writers excluisvely for Open Source.

To receive updates when there is new content posted in the Groups, just join the ones that interest you. To 'Join' a group, click on the Group page,scroll down and click the 'Join Group' option on the right-hand task bar.

Join In The Discussions: In the Discussion Forums you’ll find notes from the playwrights, directors and cast behind current and upcoming shows.  They’ll  give a unique insight into how a new piece makes it from initial idea to first night. It's also an interactive space, to join in chats with the creative team about the process and leave your notes, comments and feedback. Just click on the Discussions button on the taskbar to join in; here you can repy to existing topics or start your own.

Director's Blog Magnetic North's Artistic Director keeps a regular Open Source blog, casting his eye over recent cultural events and news stories. Read and leave your comments.

Personalise Your Profile To access your Open Source Profile, click on the Community dropdown button on the taskbar, then on My Profile. Here you can upload an avatar, update your status to let us know what you're up to, send private messages to your Open Source friends and more.

Get Active In The Community The easiest way to catch up on the latest happenings on Open Source is to click on the Community dropdown button on the taskbar, then on Latest Activities. Here, you can see the latest posts and new Open Source members. You can also befriend other members by clicking 'Add As Friend' under members names. If someone has requested you as a friend, you will receive email notification and the option to either accept or decline.
