by Henry David Thoreau

adapted and directed by Nicholas Bone
designed by Sans facon
performed by Ewan Donald

Walden is one of the most extraordinary and unclassifiable books ever written. Magnetic North’s production adapted the book as an event that was part performance art and part philosophy class. It was performed at Stills in Edinburgh to sell-out houses and fantastic reviews.

The production will play at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before touring Scotland and England August-September 2009. For details click here (opens a new window)

There is a blog that followed the project's development

Walden was developed through Rough Mix, Tron Lab at the Tron Theatre Glasgow, and CCA Lab.
